This year, Texas Democrats have one of the largest slates in recent history. Across the state, 22 more Democrats filed and qualified to run for Texas House than in 2022. And we don’t think that’s a coincidence.

You might remember… leading up to this moment, Blue Horizon Texas visited 25 rural and red Texas counties. We talked to hundreds of voters and dozens of potential Democratic candidates. And right before the deadline to qualify for the 2024 election lapsed, our organization sponsored 25 Democratic candidates, including 22 candidates for Texas House, with Blue Horizon Texas candidate filing fee grants.

It was your generous donations that paid for their filing fees.

Blue Horizon Texas is ready to be involved at every step of the way for Texas Democratic candidates who have bravely stepped up this year. So we’ve still got a lot of work ahead of us.

Our candidate training series has kicked into high gear, and our online candidate community is growing. At every training session, we’re seeing more and more Democratic candidates joining in. And we know our efforts are paying off.

Together, we can elect candidates who share our values and will work to improve our way of life and the lives of all Texans we will be electing. We can elect officials who will listen to us, not Trump and the MAGA Republicans, who are currently in control of the Texas legislature.
